“Villa dei Pisoni” represents the first nucleus of the Submerged Archaeological Park of Baia. The villa can be visited through an illustrated and sagolato path that winds through the remains of an ancient patrician residence of the Roman imperial age.
As evidenced by the inscriptions found, the building originally belonged to the Pisoni family but, following the attempted conspiracy against Nero, the villa was confiscated by the emperor himself.
In addition to the remains of the colonnades and corridors that surrounded the large garden (viridarium), there are the remains of at least two thermal baths, one of which still retains a perfectly recognizable basin. During the dive, it is also possible to admire one of the best examples of underwater restoration carried out on the brick half-columns.
